Deep Fried Cod (Baccala Fritto)

Ingredients
  

  • 8 cups vegetable oil
  • 8 fillets of cod
  • 1 cup flour
  • 200 ml beer
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • salt, pepper, paprika to taste

Instructions
 

  • Rinse the cod and pat dry. Season with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat the oil in a pan used for deep frying.
  • Combine the flour, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Mix the lightly beaten egg into the flour mixture.
  • Slowly mix in the beer until you have a smooth batter.
  • When the oil is ready, dip the fillets into the batter and place them in the oil.
  • Fry the fish for 3-4 minutes on each side, until both sides are golden brown.
  • Take each fillet out and place them on paper towels to drain the excess oil.
  • Serve warm with fries or whatever you like!
