Deep Fried Cod (Baccala Fritto)
Ingredients
- 8 cups vegetable oil
- 8 fillets of cod
- 1 cup flour
- 200 ml beer
- 1 egg lightly beaten
- salt, pepper, paprika to taste
Instructions
- Rinse the cod and pat dry. Season with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat the oil in a pan used for deep frying.
- Combine the flour, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Mix the lightly beaten egg into the flour mixture.
- Slowly mix in the beer until you have a smooth batter.
- When the oil is ready, dip the fillets into the batter and place them in the oil.
- Fry the fish for 3-4 minutes on each side, until both sides are golden brown.
- Take each fillet out and place them on paper towels to drain the excess oil.
- Serve warm with fries or whatever you like!
